Feed the Right Dog! Defeating Temptation

Royal Reminder for Princess Warriors

An old American Indian tale recounts the story of a chief who was telling a gathering of young braves about the struggle within. "It is like two dogs fighting inside of us," the chief told them. "There is one good dog who wants to do the right and the other dog always wants to do the wrong. Sometimes the good dog seems stronger and is winning the fight. But sometimes the bad dog is stronger and wrong is winning the fight." "Who is going to win in the end?" a young brave asks. The chief answered "The one you feed."

So what will you be "eating" today? God's Word -- The Bread of Life, or one of the fast food meals (fake promises and all) that the world offers?

If we were preparing for a sporting event, we'd train hard, practice, prepare, and condition our bodies by eating properly and taking care of ourselves. Shouldn't we do the same for our spiritual events?

Everyday there is some sort of spiritual "event" or battle to face. Ultimately, if we are filling up on God's good stuff, we have an increased chance for victory.

We can win! Let's keep feeding the good dogs, shall we?

Oh so true. We also need to be reminded at times of the fact that we feed our natural body 2- 3x/day and every day of the week. How much more should we be feeding our spirit-man.
